Blog Advertising and How to Get Advertisers To Pay You For The Privilege

Get Blog Advertisers To Send You Cash Every Month

Blog Advertising is what I’m going to talk about as one of the most kept blogging secret that can make you money hand over fist in less than a few short weeks after implementing this single powerful method. It’s nothing mystical or complicated because it really is simple at its core as you’ll find out in a moment.

The method I’m referring to is the art and science of securing advertisers for your blog to make a hefty 4 to 5 figure (even 6 figures if you have the midas touch) per month but let’s aim small to start out – eh?

You must always qualify your offer and ensure it’s inline with what is expected by whoever you’re requesting to you up on it. This logic is applicable to all offers free or sold and product or service.

What Do Your Blog Advertisers Want and Why Advertise On Your Blog?

Well, the first and obvious answer is to drive traffic to their business be it online or offline so they can drive more sales and create more profit for themselves. If your blog become an authority, then their association with it gives them more credibility in the eyes of your blog visitors.

If you generate good traffic, your blog looks professional and in their niche, then they’ll be very happy and eager to stick their advert on it for a fee rather than leave the slot for their competitors.

How To Get Your First Blog Advertiser

Contact well-known authority websites, blogs, forums, e-commerce stores etc in your niche and drop the big “F Bomb” — offer to give them FREE advertising for a certain period of time. I’d go for at least 6 months.

The big difference with this bomb and the one that destroys everything in its path is this bomb clears a path for you to attract more advertisers and put more money in your pockets with less effort.

And guess what?

Most bloggers will never do something that appears to be so insane as to “giving away the farm” without getting anything in return from the outset. Little do they know how powerful and effective this simple method is. It will produce back-end profits to make any average blogger blush in envy.
I agree it maybe daunting to approach other businesses but think about it in a way, the more businesses you approach with your free offer, the most likely you’re to come across one who takes you up on it. Ignore all the Not Interested responses and move on to the next.

You should strongly consider having a nice friendly looking blog that those you approach would be happy to associate with since their company advert is going to be placed on their. Try to get the site’s traffic stats to show that your blog actually gets some traffic hence can maybe generate leads to that client.

The fastest way to get your first advertiser is to offer the ad spot free of charge. Not only will it get your feet wet on the process to setting everything up, it will give you the experience on dealing with future advertisers.

Social Proof Gets You More Advertisers

Then you’ll notice something a bit strange but in a good way no doubt. Other advertisers are going to fight tooth and nail to get a premium spot on your blog because they see “Authority Blog #1″ endorsing your blog.

Social Proof kicks in and other prospective site owners will look to jump on board for your blog advertising offer because they don’t want to miss out on securing their spot on your blog every month while keeping the competitors at bay.

Next thing you know, you’re getting emails asking about your ad space and how much you charge. Don’t forget to have a “contact me” form on your blog otherwise you’ll be kicking yourself in the shin for missing out on all the potential income because you didn’t give them a way to contact you.

Just remember that the goal is really not for you to make money per say. That will take care of itself if you make it your goal to help your advertisers make money — for themselves. The idea here is to have a nice focused blog with good content and traffic. Yes, yes you’ll need blog traffic or your advertisers won’t pay simply see their banner on your site

Going out of your way to make sure they get more than their money’s worth in traffic and sales (even pointing out areas on their website in which they can improve to boost sales of course if you know what to advise) will keep them coming back for more like a kid running after the ice cream truck.

Eventually, advertisers are going to fight tooth and nail to get a chance to get a spot on your next monthly spot — creating social proof that snowballs on itself and creates a momentum of emails and inquiries you couldn’t stop from storming in — even if you tried.

Blog Advertising Cash Summary

There’s no magic bullet to this method so you’ll have to put in the work to build the blog, optimise it for your specific niche and generate some traffic and even subscribers to it. The main reason for this is because you’d like to make your proposal for Ad space when you know you can show your prospect that their advert will sure get some eyeballs.

Do take massive action with this method. Do a basic google search and look for a well-respected authority website in your target niche and follow the system I laid out above because it works.

I once saw a forum signatures from a well-respected guy in that forum. He was promoting his site so I sent him a forum private message offering an ad spot on several of my Adsense sites. I did charge his a tiny fee but he was happy because the price was so low. He no doubt talked about it in the forum but I never did capitalise on it as not so long after that, I moved aways from Adsense selling or destroying my sites. Thinking back now, I wish I just changed to a different kind of site after the move from Adsense.

Don’t forget to display your feed burner stats on your blog once you get a reasonable number of subscribers to your feed. Some even display a hits counter if they know it’ll show a value to be proud of. The higher those numbers, the easier it is to sell your blog advertising space.

Well, there you have it, so now you know you can take action on this and be making some money in a few weeks from now on almost auto-pilot. I say almost because you’ll still have to continue working to generate more traffic to your blog which traffic will see and click-through to your Blog Advertisers’ sites.

CPA or Commission Based Affiliate Marketing?

CPA Affiliate Marketing

Cost Per Action

CPA Earns You More Money or Does It Really?

This is a classic debate and for those many who failed to get to grips with the normal commission based affiliate marketing but succeeded in cost per action offers, CPA is thier obvious winner.

The same could be said for a lot of the top internet marketers today like Frank Kern, Perry Marshall, and others who made their living from affiliate marketing. So it all boils down to this:

Who’s right, and who’s wrong? The answer to this question is simple…

No one.

Cost Per Action (CPA) Is Easier For Most

CPA marketing has been around for many years, but it wasn’t until 3-4 years ago when it really started to catch fire with both successful and struggling internet marketers because of CPA pioneers like Amish Shah who introduced this profitable business to the online community.

I know a few CPA enthusiasts who believe running a CPA business is easier than affiliate marketing by a long shot because it’s simpler for people to take actions that doesn’t require their credit card info for YOU to make money.

Another powerful benefit of CPA is the instant results and responses you can get from basic zip and email submit forms. Even if it’s a few dollars per day profit, it’s enough to inspire anyone to take that bit of success and grow on it — where’s affiliate marketing requires MORE patience and resilience to get results.

CPA marketing is all fine and dandy and it’s the rave in the IM community at this time, but let’s talk a little about what makes affiliate marketing a strong “contender” in this contest to see which business model is the best.

Affiliate Marketing Rewards For Higher Risk

It’s said that “the bigger the risk you take in business, the bigger the reward”. Although not always the case, I’ve discovered from personal experience it’s fairly accurate. The more you risk, the more money and higher the profit margins you get in return.

Let’s say you have an affiliate product paying out $30 per sale in commissions (affiliate marketing). If you had a common CPA campaign set-up, it would take 35 people to take a specific action ($1.00 per zip/email submit) to get what only took ONE person to do with the $30 sale.

Also, with affiliate marketing you’re not at the mercy of the CPA merchant. Which means you rarely need to call anyone to get anybody’s approval to get set-up and making money.

As you can see there are both “positives and negatives” with both CPA and Affiliate Marketing. Starting out, I recommend CPA because the motivation to succeed grows even with small successes. As you start to make money, branch out into affiliate marketing to diversify your online income.

Cost Per Action (CPA) Was Second Option to Affiliate Marketing

I started with affiliate marketing but if I knew what i know now, I’d have gone the CPA route as it’s a less steeper learning curve with almost all the work done for you by the company offering the product you’re marketing. They offer you sales material, sites, graphics, keywords, articles and many more besides to make your cost per action marketing as easy as possible.

When you get deep into Cost Per Action or Affiliate Marketing you need to keep track of return on investment (ROI). Simply put, this is a measurement of what profit you get out of the money and time you spend on advertising. Fortunately there are plenty of automatic and free ROI tools online to assist you. By measuring your ROI you can easily compare multiple forms of advertising and see which is most cost-effective for you. Also consider the returns from time you spend on the different business activities to ensure you’re not wasting more time than is needed things that don’t build your business.
